The forecast for today was for more wind, but gusty. It looked like it would be a bit steadier out at Moiser.
We had the usual morning routine with Kent sleeping in, and a lot of the gang going downtown for coffee and breakfast.
It was 11:30 is by the time everyone got mobilized.
The call was split. Big Jim, John and Robert went to the Event Site, while the rest of the gang went to Moiser.
I was first out - and took my 4.5m wing. It wasn't enough, so I came back in to rig my 5. As I was getting back out on the water, Blaine, Brad, Cynthia and Kent were coming in. They said it had picked up, so they were rigging down.

I decided to give the 5m wing a go anyway as I was already in the water. I had a pretty good session, although very over powered most of the time. I wanted to do at least 10km before I went back in for lunch.
Cam and Travis, who had worked their way upwind, stayed out until I was almost finished my lunch. It looked like they had a great time.

Blane, Brad and Big Air Jim also looked like they were making it work and having a great time, and of course Kent was all over the place.
Ross was out on his 4m kite, but said the wind was from everywhere. He re-rigged and went out again.
While I ate my lunch, I tried to take some photos, although everyone was on the far side of the river where the wind was better. I did get some shots as people started coming in for a rest.

After lunch, I took my 4.5 wing out again. It took me a long time to catch a gust to get going. The wind was up and down and from every different direction. It was "interesting" sailing to say the least. At least I got lots of practice climbing onto my small board and getting up and going!
Cynthia was doing really well and absolutely blasting back and forth, going faster than most.

We all sat in the sun to warm up after our second session. Harold wasn't having a great day, but was re-rigging to go out on a bigger board which helped. He said afterwards that he had a really good sail on his bigger board!
Everyone was talking about how gusty and shifty the conditions were.
I was pretty well beat, so I packed up and went to the Event Site, hoping to take some photos of John, Robert and Big Jim, but I got there as John and Big Jim were leaving. Robert was also there, but on his bike.

John and Jim both had really good days. John was really excited because for the first time, he had been foiling a lot, and even did one jibe! Eureka! His best day ever.
Robert had also had a great day, but ended up getting a parking ticket - apparently the app crashed and he didn't complete the purchase. When he was done for the day, he rode his bike down to pay the ticket, (because he didn't want to get a second ticket when he parked to pay the ticket) and then checked out the Event Site again before heading home.
The crew at Mosier had a late lunch and then waited hoping for the wind to settle. Around 4pm they all went out on the same stuff that they had for the afternoon but the wind seemed just a little friendlier.
Late in the day the wind was steady enough that there were quite a few windsurfers out which was quite different. Dale and Bruce showed up on windsurf foils around 5:30 from the event site. They blasted down to Mosier and then took off upwind back to the event site. Travis noted that 3 sailers were heading back which surprised him until he realized that Kent was trying to keep up with the speedsters. He realized it was Kent when Dale and Bruce were out of sight and Kent was sailing alone.

At 6:30, Big Jim, Robert and John gave up on the rest of the gang and ordered pizza which they ate with fresh tomatoes which they ate while watching a Basket ball Game.
